Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Pediatrics - Anesthesiology in Richmond, VA - A major tertiary care hospital in Richmond, Virginia is seeking a Locums Pediatric Anesthesiology Physician to provide ongoing coverage beginning as soon as possible. This opportunity offers a predictable weekday schedule with no nights, weekends, or call responsibilities while caring for pediatric patients in a busy surgical environment. The ideal candidate is fellowship-trained in Pediatric Anesthesiology and experienced in managing anesthesia for infants and young children undergoing a variety of surgical procedures. Position Details * Start Date: ASAP * Duration: Ongoing * Practice Setting: Hospital-Based * Hospital Size: 466 Beds * Trauma Center: Yes Schedule * Typical Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM * Additional shift options may include: * 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM * 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM * No weekends * No night coverage * No 24-hour call * No in-house call * No beeper call Clinical Responsibilities * Provide anesthesia services for pediatric surgical patients * Conduct preoperative evaluations and develop anesthesia plans * Administer and monitor anesthesia throughout surgical procedures * Manage postoperative recovery and pain control * Collaborate with pediatric surgeons, nursing staff, and perioperative teams * Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation Case Mix Primary cases include pediatric patients ranging from approximately 2 days old to 2 years of age, including: * Hernia repairs * Pyloric stenosis procedures * ENT surgeries * Additional general pediatric surgical cases Qualifications * MD or DO required * Board Certified in Anesthesiology * Fellowship Training in Pediatric Anesthesiology required * Active Virginia medical license preferred * Current DEA registration, if required by facility #AAS
