General Job Responsibilities: * Conduct examinations and diagnose conditions for patients with conditions related to the ear, nose, throat, head and neck. * Perform a range of ENT surgical procedures, such as tonsillectomies, sinus surgeries, and head and neck cancer surgeries, among others. * Respond promptly to ENT-related emergencies, such as airway obstructions, nosebleeds and traumatic injuries. * Provide patient education about conditions, treatment options and post-care management strategies. * Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans. * Maintain accurate and thorough medical records. Skills: * In-depth knowledge of otolaryngology principles, including both medical and surgical treatments for ENT disorders. * Capability to make quick, informed decisions during surgery and in emergency situations. * Strong communication skills to explain complex medical information to patients. * Excellent manual dexterity and precision. * Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams. Minimum Education Requirements: * Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school. * Residency training program in otolaryngology by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). License & Certifications: * Board certification in otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (ABO-HNS) or the American Osteopathic Boards of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AOBOO-HNS). * Active and unrestricted medical license in Montana. Experience: * While specific requirements may vary, most locum ENT positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting.
