JOB DETAILS * Weekly Estimated Pay: $5,600-$6,000 * Start Date: 8/31/2026 * Assignment Length: 26 weeks with potential extension * Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday * Shift Duration: 8-hour days * Hours Per Week: 40 * Setting: Inpatient and outpatient hospital-based neurosurgery * Patient Population: Adults * Patient Volume: Approximately 8-20 patients per day * EMR: Epic NEUROSURGERY NURSE PRACTITIONER JOB REQUIREMENTS * At least 1 year of experience required; 1-2 years of neurosurgery, neurology, or complex surgical floor experience strongly preferred * Experience with Neuro ICU patients may be considered * Active California Nurse Practitioner license required * Current board certification as ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, or ACNPC required * California DEA required, including Schedule II authority * BLS certification required * Ability to work with adult neurosurgical patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings * Comfort managing high-acuity cases and collaborating within a multidisciplinary surgical team NEUROSURGERY NURSE PRACTITIONER RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide comprehensive care for adult neurosurgery patients in both inpatient and outpatient environments * Manage post-operative follow-up, case coordination, imaging orders, and ongoing treatment plans * Support inpatient care for patients with brain tumors, meningiomas, neurocritical conditions, and other complex neurosurgical diagnoses * Assist with management of high-acuity transfers from outside facilities * Perform clinical procedures such as drain removal; training may be available for EVD drain removal * Document patient care accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with the care team * Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes Apply now for this San Francisco neurosurgery locum tenens opportunity and join a collaborative healthcare team today.
