If a company needs a physician for more than the limited amount of time of a locum tenens, do they hire more than one?

Yes to fill in the time exceeding the 60 days continuous calendar limit for locum tenens. So let's say a physician will be out more than the approved 60 day limit for billing their services. In that case, that facility would be able to add a different locum tenens provider to come in and work up to their 60 continuous days in that role. However, if after returning to work for a while, the regular physician may rehire that same locum tenens physician for a new 60 calendar day cycle.
