Compensation: $4500-$5000 Per Day Qualifications: * Medical degree and completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency program. * Fellowship training or significant experience in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery. * Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery. * Licensure to practice medicine in the state of South Dakota. Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery - Neurosurgery in Rapid City, SD - We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing Neurosurgery team in Rapid City, SD. This is an outstanding opportunity for both experienced providers and new graduates or early-career APPs, as we are willing to provide comprehensive training to candidates with a strong clinical foundation and a passion for surgical care. The Neurosurgery APP will assist with the evaluation, treatment, and management of patients with neurological disorders, both in the hospital and clinic settings, and will play an active role in first-assisting in the OR. Responsibilities: * Conduct hospital rounds, consults, and post-operative follow-ups under the supervision of neurosurgeons * First assist in the operating room for neurosurgical procedures * Perform and assist with bedside procedures within scope of practice * Manage patient care in the clinic, including pre- and post-op evaluations and conservative management * Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical care, and follow-up plans * Collaborate with neurosurgeons, nursing staff, and other specialists to ensure high-quality patient outcomes * Document all patient encounters and procedures accurately in the EMR * Participate in call coverage as part of a team rotation (shared call) Qualifications: * Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program * Current or eligible South Dakota license * BLS and ACLS required (or ability to obtain prior to start) * Surgical or neurology/neurosurgery experience is a plus—but training will be provided * Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills * Eagerness to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and hands-on environment Nestled in the foothills of the Black Hills, Rapid City offers an exceptional quality of life with a low cost of living, outdoor adventure, and a friendly community.
