Physician (MD/DO) - Family Practice in Nebraska - JOB DESCRIPTION Lead with purpose while continuing to practice medicine in a community that values your expertise and compassion. This is a unique opportunity for a  Family Medicine physician  to serve as  Chief Medical Officer (CMO)  for a respected, mission-driven healthcare organization in  Nebraska . The CMO plays a vital dual role —  50% clinical and 50% administrative  — ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while providing strategic direction and clinical leadership across all service lines. You’ll be part of a collaborative executive team, guiding medical staff performance, advancing quality initiatives, and strengthening provider engagement in a supportive, community-focused environment. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS * Dual role: 50% direct patient care / 50% administrative leadership * Reports to: Chief Executive Officer * Supervises: Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, and Behavioral Health staff * Schedule: * Clinic/Admin Days: Monday–Thursday (3 weeks/month) and Monday–Friday (1 week/month) * ER Backup Call: 1:4 (APPs take primary call) * Facility: Modern 17-bed Critical Access Hospital with attached Rural Health Clinic KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Executive Leadership:  Partner with senior leadership to align clinical operations with organizational goals and strategy. * Provider Oversight:  Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance of physicians, APPs, and clinical teams. * Quality & Compliance:  Lead initiatives for patient safety, quality metrics, and regulatory adherence. * Patient Care:  Maintain an active clinical practice within the Family Medicine clinic. * Collaboration:  Foster interdisciplinary teamwork and a culture of excellence across all departments.
