Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Gastroenterology in Meridian, MS - Are you a Gastroenterology physician searching for your next locum tenens opportunity? Additional coverage needs may arise for the last quarter of the year. * Job Setting: Inpatient - (15-bed department; Trauma Level 3 facility) * Types of Cases: Average 2-5 consults/day. Responsibilities include seeing and evaluating patients, follow-up, providing recommendations, and performing endoscopy as indicated. Clear communication with consultants and clear sign-outs are expected. ERCP and EUS are not performed at this facility. Required Procedures/Skills: * Upper GI Endoscopy (with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, injection of varices) * Esophageal Dilatation/Manometry * Esophageal Manometry Interpretation * Small Bowel Biopsy * Lower GI Endoscopy * Sigmoidoscopy (Flexible and Rigid) * Colonoscopy (with biopsy and excision of polyp) * Insertion/Management of Sengstaken/Blakemore Tube * Credentialing: Up to 90 days MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified required * Certifications: ACLS, BLS required * Licensure: Active Mississippi (MS) state license required.
