Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Hematology and Oncology in Plymouth, IN - 🏥 Opportunity Overview Seeking a Hematology/Oncology provider for an outpatient long-term opportunity with potential for permanent placement. This provider will help build a new service line and should be available to start as soon as possible. 📍 Practice Setting & Locations Outpatient Hematology/Oncology coverage is needed across the Mishawaka and Plymouth campuses. Infusion coverage will be split between Mishawaka three days per week and Plymouth two days per week, with evening call coverage included. 👥 Patient Population The provider will care for adult and geriatric patients. The practice mix is approximately 50% Hematology and 50% Oncology, with no Internal Medicine component. 📅 Coverage Details Coverage is needed ASAP and is ongoing. The reason for coverage is the launch of a new service line. Average outpatient clinic volume is approximately 30 patients per day, with no hospital rounding or inpatient call volume expected. 🩺 Clinical Responsibilities Responsibilities include outpatient oncology care, ordering tests and imaging, prescribing, blood bank coordination, participation in tumor board, and management of bone marrow transplant-related care as applicable. 🔬 Required Procedures Required procedures include management of VAD/CV catheters and bone marrow biopsy. 💉 Chemotherapy Administration Chemotherapy may be administered by the physician or nurse oncologist. 💻 EMR The documentation system is EPIC. Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Hematology and Oncology in Des Moines, IA - 🏥 Practice Overview Des Moines Medical Centers are seeking a locum-to-perm Hematologist/Oncologist to provide Medical Hematology/Oncology coverage across both sites. Coverage is primarily outpatient, with some inpatient responsibilities. 📍 Coverage Setting Coverage is approximately 95% outpatient and 5% inpatient. The provider will cover both MercyOne Des Moines and MercyOne West Des Moines, including inpatient responsibilities at both locations. Telehealth may also be included. 📅 Schedule The preferred schedule is 2 weeks on/2 weeks off with call. Facility coverage is needed 4 days per week, typically Monday–Thursday or Monday–Friday. Clinic hours are 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., with 6 patient contact hours and 8 clinic hours per day. Procedure/OR days are not required. 🗓 Dates Needed Coverage is needed for the following blocks: September 14–October 2, October 19–30, and November 16–27, excluding Thanksgiving. 👥 Patient Population & Volume The practice serves Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, and secondary commercial/Medicare patients. Clinic volume is approximately 10–30 patients per day, with an average daily hospital census of 10–15 patients. Appointment lengths are 40 minutes for consults and 20 minutes for follow-ups. 🩺 Clinical Responsibilities Responsibilities include patient assessments, new and ongoing treatment plans, therapy changes, ancillary referrals, end-of-life care, chemotherapy management, and pain management.
