Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist Job – General Anesthesia

Experienced anesthesiologist needed for a locum tenens general anesthesia opportunity. This role includes 5 shifts per week, 8-hour days, regular hours of 7:00am-3:00pm, a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation, a collaborative MD and CRNA practice model, and a broad case mix across multiple specialties. Milledgeville and the central Georgia area offer Southern charm, scenic lake-area surroundings, and a welcoming community atmosphere—making it an excellent place to practice anesthesia.

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $11,833 - $13,148
• Coverage Dates: October 18-25, November 21-28, and January 10-ongoing
• Assignment Length: 52 weeks
• Schedule: 5 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 8-hour days
• Hours: 7:00am-3:00pm
• Rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
• Call Schedule: 3:00pm-7:00am with surgical call each working day
• Call Response Time: 20 minutes
• Practice Model: MDs and CRNAs
• Number of ORs: 5
• EMR System: Medaxion
• Case Mix: Endoscopy, OB/GYN, pediatrics, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, and orthopedics

Anesthesiologist Job Requirements

• 2 years of anesthesiology experience required
• Active, unrestricted physician license
• DEA required
• AHA-issued certifications required
• Experience with spinals, blocks, and epidurals required
• Case logs required, including proof of epidurals, spinals, and blocks
• Ability to complete credentialing within approximately 45-60 days

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care for a broad range of general surgical and specialty procedures
• Perform and manage spinals, regional blocks, and epidurals as part of routine clinical practice
• Supervise CRNAs while also independently performing cases
• Participate in call coverage and respond within required response times
• Document patient care accurately within the Medaxion EMR system
