This health system provides inpatient general surgery services with established protocols to support both routine and emergency surgical care delivery. The facility operates on an on-site basis and maintains the resources necessary to support call-based surgical coverage. An existing surgeon is in place, and clinical operations are structured to ensure quality surgical care for the community served.

North Carolina offers a range of destinations suited to varied interests, from the Blue Ridge Mountains and coastal areas such as the Outer Banks and Wrightsville Beach to attractions including the North Carolina Arboretum and the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad. The state provides outdoor experiences, wildlife tours, and diverse regional activities accessible year-round. Clinicians on assignment will find options for recreation and exploration throughout both the mountainous and coastal regions of the state.

The clinician will provide 24-hour inpatient call coverage for general surgery services at an established health system facility in North Carolina, with shifts running 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM. Coverage is required for October 9-12 and December 23-28, with nights and weekends included; no clinic duties are assigned. Primary responsibilities include performing emergent general surgery procedures such as appendectomy and cholecystectomy, averaging 15 patients per day and 8-16 OR cases per week. No ICU or critical care duties are required, and code response is not expected for this assignment.
