About the Position

🏥 Opportunity Overview
Seeking a Hematology/Oncology provider for an outpatient long-term opportunity with potential for permanent placement. This provider will help build a new service line and should be available to start as soon as possible.

📍 Practice Setting & Locations
Outpatient Hematology/Oncology coverage is needed across the Mishawaka and Plymouth campuses. Infusion coverage will be split between Mishawaka three days per week and Plymouth two days per week, with evening call coverage included.

👥 Patient Population
The provider will care for adult and geriatric patients. The practice mix is approximately 50% Hematology and 50% Oncology, with no Internal Medicine component.

📅 Coverage Details
Coverage is needed ASAP and is ongoing. The reason for coverage is the launch of a new service line. Average outpatient clinic volume is approximately 30 patients per day, with no hospital rounding or inpatient call volume expected.

🩺 Clinical Responsibilities
Responsibilities include outpatient oncology care, ordering tests and imaging, prescribing, blood bank coordination, participation in tumor board, and management of bone marrow transplant-related care as applicable.

🔬 Required Procedures
Required procedures include management of VAD/CV catheters and bone marrow biopsy.

💉 Chemotherapy Administration
Chemotherapy may be administered by the physician or nurse oncologist.

💻 EMR
The documentation system is EPIC.
