Anesthesiologist

Location: Virginia
Coverage: Specific week blocks through October 2026 as outlined below
Schedule: 10 hour day shifts (example 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM). Weeknight and weekend pager call preferred. Holiday call preferred.

Position Overview
Provide anesthesiology coverage for scheduled summer and early fall week blocks. This role focuses on general, orthopedic, and urology cases and requires regional proficiency. Coverage is expected to be primarily day shift with very light beeper call when taken, as outlined in the order details.

Coverage Dates

• August 10 to August 14, 2026 (call preferred) plus weekend call coverage August 15 to August 16, 2026
• August 17 to August 21, 2026
• August 31 to September 4, 2026
• September 7 to September 11, 2026
• September 21 to September 25, 2026
• September 28 to October 2, 2026

Clinical Scope

• Adult case mix including general, orthopedics, and urology
• Regional proficiency required
• MDs doing their own cases
• Number of anesthesia rooms: 4
• EMR: Epic
• Responsibilities include pre anesthesia assessment, obtaining and verifying consent, discussing anesthetic options and risks with the patient, induction, maintenance, emergence, physiologic monitoring, and clinical interventions as needed

Required Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board certification required
• Completion of an approved anesthesia residency
• Active medical license (Virginia license preferred; candidates needing a Virginia license may be considered as outlined in the order details)
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the worksite

Credentialing

• Estimated credentialing timeframe is typically around 90 days
