Requirements Position specific questions · Duration of need? 3-6 months · Will they take an APP or SFA when applicable? No APP · What are expectations for orientation? ie shadow day? EMR training? 2 shadow shifts Candidate Parameters · Any specific fellowships/ certifications/ procedures/ competencies we are looking for? ABEM STRONGLY PREFERRED - MUST HAVE EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE IF OTHERWISE · Experience level? Any experience level non-EM boarded who are comfortable with gyn and peds patients accepted. Credentialing questions: · Will emergency privileges be an option? Temps will be considered · Are case logs needed? If so what are the requirements? Standard HCA credentialing requirements Hospital/unit questions · Number of beds? 11 · Census? 15000-16000 pts per year or 30-40 patients/day · How many daily admissions? 4-5 patients per day or ~ 13 admission rate from ED · Are there any consults and if so how many per day? Standard call services pediatrics. · What’s the patient population? Young and generally healthy · Trauma center? Types of cases? Acuity? Low acuity. This is not a trauma stroke or cardiac center. Few EMS. · What does the support staff look like? Standard ED nursing and support staff. LampD located in hospital and separate from ED. Pediatrician on shift in ED during peak hours. · How will follow up cases be handled? when applicable- inpatient or outpatient N/a Specialty Specific Questions: Emergency Medicine · What are the shift times? 6a-6p 6p-6a · Is call involved? N/a · What procedures are required? Standard ED procedures mainly low to mid acuity · What does the support staff include? Standard ED nursing and support staff. LampD located in hospital and separate from ED. Pediatrician on shift in ED during peak hours. · What is the average patient census? 30 – 40 patients per dayWhat are the most common cases the locum will see?
