• Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• Coverage: 4 days per month with call coverage from 3:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $5,540 - $5,930
• Patient Volume: 10-15 CVICU / step-down patients per day, plus 1-2 surgeries
• Charting System: Cerner
• Population: Adults and geriatrics

Nurse Practitioner Job Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of recent cardiothoracic surgery experience
• Proficiency with EVH required
• Board certification or certification eligibility as a Nurse Practitioner
• Active Arizona NP license or eligibility for licensure
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• DEA required
• Experience with cardiothoracic surgery procedures and inpatient post-op care
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage a fast-paced surgical service

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient cardiothoracic surgery coverage for adult and geriatric patients
• Round on CVICU and step-down patients and support daily surgical care
• Assist with 1-2 surgeries as needed
• Perform or support procedures including temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and A-line placement
• Collaborate closely with the surgeon and care team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
• Participate in call coverage and respond to clinical needs after hours
• Document patient care accurately in Cerner
• Deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate care in a busy surgical environment
