About the Position

A leading healthcare facility in Richmond, Virginia is seeking a Locums Cardiac Anesthesiology Physician for coverage during the week of December 21, 2026. This opportunity is ideal for a fellowship-trained cardiac anesthesiologist seeking a short-term assignment with a focused cardiac call schedule and no overnight OR call requirements.

Position Overview

  • Assignment Dates: Week of December 21, 2026

  • Schedule: Monday–Thursday OR coverage

  • OR Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

  • Night Call: None

Call Schedule

Cardiac call coverage only:

  • Call begins: 7:00 AM on December 24, 2026

  • Call ends: 7:00 AM on December 28, 2026

  • Holiday call rates apply on December 24 and December 25

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide anesthesia care for cardiac surgical procedures

  • Manage perioperative care for complex cardiac patients

  • Participate in cardiac call coverage as scheduled

  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia colleagues, and multidisciplinary care teams

  • Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia services in a tertiary care environment

Qualifications

  • Cardiac fellowship-trained anesthesiologist preferred

  • Facility will consider non-cardiac fellowship-trained physicians who can provide:

    • Cardiac case logs

    • Attestation form documenting cardiac procedure experience

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology

    • Certification must be obtained within 5 years of residency completion

  • Active Virginia medical license or IMLC eligibility

  • Current BLS certification required

  • ACLS certification required if requesting conscious sedation privileges

  • Flu vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions considered)

  • COVID vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions considered)
