About the Position

A healthcare facility in Blacksburg, Virginia is seeking a Locums Invasive Interventional Cardiology Physician to provide inpatient interventional cardiology coverage and support 24/7 STEMI services. This is an excellent opportunity for a Board Certified cardiologist to join a collaborative team providing critical cardiac care in support of the facility’s Chest Pain Accreditation and trauma services.

Position Highlights

• Coverage: 8 days per month

• Call Schedule: 24/7 call coverage required due to trauma and STEMI program needs

• Patient Volume: Approximately 15 patients

• EMR: EWC

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient interventional cardiology services

• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures

• Provide 24/7 STEMI call coverage as required for Chest Pain Accreditation

• Evaluate and manage acute cardiac conditions

• Collaborate with hospitalists, emergency medicine physicians, APPs, nursing staff, and other specialists

• Deliver timely, high-quality care for patients requiring advanced cardiac intervention

Support Staff

• Dedicated nursing staff

• Advanced Practice Provider (APP) support

• Collaborative multidisciplinary care team

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Cardiology

• Invasive Interventional Cardiology experience required

• Active Virginia medical license or ability to obtain licensure

• Current DEA registration

• BLS certification required

• ACLS certification required
