• Position: Locum Tenens Physician - Pediatric Gastroenterology / Gastroenterology
• Location: Columbia, South Carolina 29203
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $168,000-$180,000
• Start Date: 10/15/2026
• End Date: 9/16/2027
• Duration: 48 weeks
• Schedule: Weekend coverage with Friday 3:00 PM to Monday 7:00 AM coverage; call 3 days per week; times may be negotiated
• Shift Duration: 12 hours; any shift coverage as needed
• Coverage Need: Weekly weekend coverage
• Patients Per Day: 8-12
• EMR: Epic
• Setting: Inpatient consult service

Physician Job Requirements

• Board Certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology or Gastroenterology
• Active South Carolina medical license required
• Minimum 2 years of independent practice experience
• BLS and ACLS required
• CSR and DEA required
• Clean malpractice history preferred
• Experience with Epic preferred
• Must be comfortable caring for adolescents, pediatrics, and newborns

Responsibilities

• Provide consult-only pediatric gastroenterology coverage for inpatient weekend needs
• Evaluate and manage urgent GI concerns, including bleeding and other acute issues as appropriate
• Perform scopes when clinically indicated and within provider discretion
• Interpret X-rays as needed to support patient care
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to ensure timely, high-quality coverage
• Document patient care accurately in Epic EMR
• Support care for a mixed pediatric and adolescent population in a hospital setting
