About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Anesthetist for a 30-day locum tenens assignment in Pennsylvania, starting Oct 16, 2026. This role involves 10-hour or 12-hour shifts and comprehensive anesthesia care for a variety of cases including general, orthopedics, trauma, and neurosurgery, excluding hearts and OB. Our client offers a dynamic environment where you will assess, prepare, and manage patients through various anesthetic plans and procedures.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assess, prepare, and manage patients for anesthesia care in the perioperative/procedural period.
  • Develop and implement an anesthetic plan.
  • Perform history and physical examinations.
  • Obtain Informed Consent.
  • Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations and post-operative assessments.
  • Administer General Anesthesia, Regional Anesthesia, Epidural Anesthesia, Spinal Anesthesia, and IV Regional Blocks.
  • Provide Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC).
  • Perform invasive monitoring and placement (CVP/CVC, pulmonary artery catheterization, intra-arterial lines).
  • Manage airways.


Additional Information

  • Board Certified in Anesthesiology and by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
  • Experience with Cerner EMR system.
  • Cases include General, orthopedics, trauma, plastics, neurosurgery, pediatrics (ages 5 and up), endoscopy, NORA, robotic surgery, gynecology, and ENT. No hearts, OB, or blocks.
  • Shift options: 10-hour shifts (8:30am-7pm) or 12-hour shifts (6:30am-7pm, with a 7am start on Thursdays).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience is required by the time of credentialing.
