About the Position

We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist for a locum inpatient opportunity in Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will have experience treating both Geriatric and Adult inpatient psychiatric patients, although Geriatric Psychiatry experience is the primary need. This is a weekday-only assignment with no call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage adult and geriatric psychiatric inpatients.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary behavioral health team.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic EMR.
• Participate in patient care planning and discharge coordination.

Requirements

• MD or DO with Board Certification/Eligibility in Psychiatry.
• Active Massachusetts Medical License required.
• Experience in Geriatric Inpatient Psychiatry preferred.
• Adult Inpatient Psychiatry experience is highly desirable.
• Epic experience preferred.
• Flu vaccination is mandatory (no waivers or exceptions).

  • 22-bed inpatient geriatric psychiatry unit.
  • Average daily census: 18–22 patients.
  • Approximately 8 patients per day.
  • Epic EMR with training provided before start.
