Outpatient and hospital-based anesthesia coverage supporting a level-one trauma center
Rhino Medical is seeking experienced CRNAs for a locum tenens assignment supporting a busy Level-one academic trauma center in Charleston, South Carolina. This role involves providing general, neuro, spine, orthopedic, and oncology anesthesia across diverse surgical specialties, with weekend shifts scheduled in a hybrid hospital and outpatient environment. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in EPIC, hold an active South Carolina license, and reside more than 60 miles from Charleston according to MUSC radius rules.
Opportunity Highlights
- Location: Charleston, SC
- Locum Tenens CRNA
- Duration: Immediate start, minimum 3 months with extension option
- Schedule:
- Friday, Saturday: 13.5-hour shifts
- Sunday: 10.5-hour shift or alternative schedule includes Saturday, Sunday, and Monday with 13.5-hour shifts
- Shifts include a 0.5-hour unpaid lunch
- Must cover entire weekend schedule with at least 11 out of 12 weekends considered
- Practice setting: Level-one trauma center with 21 OR suites, covering trauma, transplant, ortho, neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, robotics, burns; interventional radiology, and non-OR sites (CT, MRI, bronch, neuro-angio)
- Care scope: General anesthesia; neuro and spine; orthopedic; oncology; no blocks, OB, or cardiac cases
- Environment: Approximately 42 CRNAs in practice group
Clinical Scope
- General anesthesia procedures in diverse surgical specialties
- Neuro and spine anesthesia support
- Orthopedic and oncology anesthesia (ENT, GYN, Urology)
- No blocks, no obstetric, no cardiac cases
- Documentation and care aligned with hospital standards
Requirements
- Active South Carolina CRNA license
- Minimum 3 years clinical CRNA experience in an acute or trauma setting
- Proficiency in EPIC EMR system (non-negotiable)
- Residency location more than 60 miles from Charleston as per MUSC radius rules
- Flexibility to work in both hospital and outpatient towers
- Parking is not reimbursable; all candidates pay for parking or may use free lot if arriving early
