About the Position

The Medical Center in the Coastal Plain region of eastern North Carolina is seeking a Board-Certified Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide locum inpatient coverage. Providers will complete a brief on-site orientation the day before starting.

This assignment is well-suited for locum clinicians who prioritize strong pay rates, flexible scheduling, and the ability to secure a more manageable work-life balance while supporting a high-acuity neurosurgery service.

• Shift: Night shift, 7p-7a, with flexibility that supports providers seeking improved schedule control
• Orientation: Required the day before the first shift

• Inpatient-Only neurosurgery APP role
• Level 1 Trauma Center
• Collaborative team of 9 Neurosurgeons and 9 APPs
• 24/7 inpatient support
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA)
• Procedures include:
  • Admissions and discharges
  • Consultations
  • OR first assist (optional)
• Night discharges are uncommon but may occur
