Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of general surgery experience required
• Experience caring for adult patients in a general surgery or inpatient surgical setting
• ACLS certification required
• Strong laparoscopic surgery skills, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, and Nissen fundoplication
• Experience with head and neck surgery, chest wall and pleural procedures, breast surgery, GI endoscopy, hand surgery, ventilation management, chest tube insertion, and central line insertion
• Ability to support vascular surgery cases and place pacemakers when needed
• Comfort working in a fast-paced locum tenens surgery environment with a varied case mix

Responsibilities

• Provide weekend general surgery coverage during the scheduled September assignment dates
• Evaluate, treat, and manage adult surgical patients in an inpatient hospital setting
• Perform a broad range of general surgery procedures and endoscopic services as needed
• Support operative and perioperative care for patients requiring advanced surgical intervention
• Manage ventilation, chest tubes, and central lines when clinically indicated
• Collaborate with the surgical care team to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care
• Assist with pacemaker placement and other procedures within scope and credentialing
