About the Position

Position Overview

Join one of South Carolina's premier Neurosurgery programs as a Locum Tenens Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner.

Working alongside an experienced team of six Neurosurgeons, you'll provide a combination of inpatient rounding, perioperative management, outpatient clinic support, and advanced bedside neurosurgical procedures while utilizing Epic EMR in a collaborative, high-acuity practice.

This 26-week assignment offers outstanding schedule stability, travel reimbursement, advanced procedural experience, and one of the strongest compensation packages available for Neurosurgery APP locum opportunities.

• Provider Pay: $160/hour
• October 2026 start
• Initial 26-week assignment

• 10- or 12-hour day shifts
• Typical schedules:
  • 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• One weeknight call during assigned call week
• One weekend call day during assigned call week
• Monday–Friday clinic
• Morning hospital rounds before clinic
• Epic EMR
• All orientation hours billable
• All travel expenses reimbursable
• Adult patient population

• Daily inpatient neurosurgical rounding
• Outpatient Neurosurgery clinic
• Perioperative patient management
• Postoperative follow-up
• Emergency neurosurgical evaluations
• Diagnostic and therapeutic taps
• Lumbar punctures
• Lumbar drain placement
• External Ventricular Drain (EVD) placement
• Intracranial Pressure (ICP) monitor placement
• Complex wound closure
• Suturing
• Coordination of multidisciplinary patient care
• Weeknight and weekend call coverage
