About the Position

We are seeking a Transplant Surgeon to provide ongoing locum tenens coverage in Pennsylvania. This is an opportunity offering one week of coverage per month with 24-hour call.

Responsibilities

• One week per month (Friday 7:00 AM – Friday 7:00 AM)
• Provide 24-hour call coverage for kidney organ offers
• Evaluate and accept donor kidney offers
• Perform kidney transplant procedures as needed
• Round daily on transplant patients
• Manage post-operative kidney transplant care
• Treat transplant-related complications and infections
• Collaborate with an experienced multidisciplinary transplant team
• EMR: Epic / Phoenix

Patient Population

• Adults only
• End-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients requiring kidney transplantation
• Post-operative kidney transplant patients
• Patients with post-transplant complications or infections

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
• Completion of an Abdominal Transplant Surgery Fellowship (Required)
• Active Pennsylvania medical license or IMLC eligibility
• DEA required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum one year of experience

Additional Details

• Average 2–4 admissions during each weekly coverage block
• Approximately 30-minute response time while on call
• Collaborative practice environment with CT Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Neurosurgery, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, Critical Care, and Hospitalist support
