• Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 1 month; temporary privileges may be available for the right candidate

General Surgery Job Requirements

• Board Certification in General Surgery required
• Active Virginia medical license required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of general surgery experience required
• Clean background with no malpractice or license issues required
• Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation required
• Strong inpatient call coverage skills and general surgery clinical experience

Responsibilities

• Provide locum tenens general surgery call coverage for designated dates
• Evaluate and manage adult inpatient surgical cases
• Perform routine general surgery procedures and related inpatient care
• Respond to beeper and phone call coverage as needed
• Collaborate with hospital staff to support safe, high-quality surgical care
• Document patient care accurately within Epic
• Deliver timely consultations and follow-up care for surgical patients
