About the Position

A leading community health organization is seeking an experienced Associate Medical Director to provide both clinical and administrative leadership in a mission-driven, patient-centered environment. This position partners closely with the Medical Director and Senior Leadership Team to oversee clinical operations, quality improvement initiatives, provider management, and patient care while supporting organizational growth and excellence. 

This role is approximately 60–80% clinical and 20–40% administrative, depending on organizational needs. 

Requirements

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients in an outpatient setting.  
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director to oversee daily clinical operations.  
  • Lead quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives.  
  • Develop and implement clinical policies, protocols, and best practices.  
  • Mentor, support, and recruit medical providers.  
  • Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and patient-centered care.  
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).  
  • Respond to clinical concerns, emergencies, and patient or staff issues as needed.  
  • Participate in strategic planning, provider performance management, and organizational initiatives.  
  • Support disaster preparedness and operational continuity efforts.  
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators related to quality, patient satisfaction, operational efficiency, and financial performance.  
  • Represent the organization at meetings, community events, and professional conferences.  

 

Qualifications  -- 

 

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.  
  • Completion of an accredited U.S. residency in a primary care specialty.  
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in a recognized primary care specialty.  
  • Active or eligible for an unrestricted Hawaii medical license.  
  • Current DEA registration and Hawaii State Narcotics registration (or ability to obtain).  
  • Current BLS Certification.  
  • Minimum 5 years of primary care clinical experience 
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.  
  • Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is strongly preferred.
