Rhino Medical is seeking an emergency medicine physician for a locum tenens assignment supporting a busy Level III trauma center in Lafayette, IN. This position involves providing high-quality emergency care in a well-supported environment featuring specialty care rooms, trauma bays, and advanced trauma protocols.

This opportunity offers physicians the chance to practice in a high-volume setting with confirmed 24-hour shift coverage, including dedicated physician and NP/PA support, along with scribe assistance. The role is suited for clinicians experienced in trauma protocols and high-volume emergency departments.

Practice Environment

This Level III trauma center serves as a critical emergency care hub for Lafayette and surrounding regions. The ED maintains dedicated physician and advanced practice provider coverage, functioning as a high-volume environment with access to trauma and specialty services. Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluation, stabilization, and treatment of emergency patients in a high-volume setting
• Management of trauma, surgical, and medical emergencies with specialty care support
• Collaboration with consulting services, nursing teams, and ancillary providers
• Documentation and order entry within a comprehensive EMR system
• Participation in trauma and specialty protocols as per established guidelines

Candidate Requirements

• MD degree
• Active Indiana medical license
• Board certification in emergency medicine or eligibility
• Active DEA registration for Indiana
• Valid CSR, if required by the state
• Prior experience in high-volume emergency departments or trauma centers preferred
• Ability to work 24-hour shifts and adapt to high-acuity scenarios
