• Position: Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner – Orthopedic Surgery
• Location: Mason City, Iowa 50401
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient and clinic-based orthopedic surgery support
• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift Length: 8-hour days
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with call coverage
• Weekend Coverage: As needed, including 24-hour weekend call
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $4,340 - $4,650
• Coverage Type: PRN as needed

Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in orthopedic surgery, surgical care, or advanced practice clinical care
• Board Certified required; Board Eligible may be accepted
• Active Iowa license or active Compact/IMLC LOQ required
• Clean malpractice history required
• Updated CV required at time of name clear
• Comfortable taking weeknight and weekend call
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and support staff

Responsibilities

• Round on post-operative patients and support inpatient orthopedic care
• Provide ED and inpatient orthopedic consultations
• Assist with clinical, surgical, and trauma/orthopedic call coverage
• Evaluate and manage fractures, injuries, and musculoskeletal conditions
• Support follow-up care for joint replacements, sports medicine, and other orthopedic procedures
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely care
• Deliver responsive, patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital environment
