• Average Daily Volume: 10-15 CVICU/step-down patients, plus 1-2 surgeries

Nurse Practitioner Job Requirements

• Active Arizona APRN license required
• Current Nurse Practitioner certification required
• Minimum of 3 years of recent cardiothoracic surgery experience
• Proficiency with EVH required
• Graduate of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program
• Completion of an RN/NP First Assistant Program
• Medical Surgical or NP certification through ANCC or AANP
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• DEA registration required
• Ability to complete credentialing within the required timeframe
• COVID-19 and flu vaccination required, with approved exemptions permitted

Cardiothoracic Surgery Responsibilities

• Provide advanced practice support for cardiothoracic surgery patients in a hospital-based healthcare setting
• Manage and follow patients in the CVICU and step-down unit
• Assist with perioperative care for adult and geriatric patients
• Collaborate closely with the surgeon and multidisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality patient care
• Perform procedures including temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and A-line placement
• Support efficient workflow for daytime coverage and assigned locum tenens call shifts
• Document thoroughly in Cerner and communicate effectively across the care team
