About the Position

Position Overview 

An established outpatient pain management practice in South Carolina is seeking a Board Certified Interventional Pain Medicine physician for an ongoing locum tenens assignment beginning in September.

This opportunity offers an outstanding outpatient-only schedule with Monday through Friday clinic hours, approximately two weeks of coverage each month, and no call responsibilities. Providers will perform a balanced mix of outpatient consultations, follow-up visits, and interventional pain procedures while practicing in a collaborative clinical environment.

The practice is seeking physicians with recent Interventional Pain Medicine experience who are comfortable working independently in a busy outpatient setting. Local and regional drive-in candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

• Ongoing assignment beginning September 2026
• Outpatient Interventional Pain Medicine practice
• Monday–Friday schedule
• Approximately two weeks of coverage per month
• Approximately 1½ procedure days weekly
• 20–25 procedures during full procedure days
• No call
• No weekends required
• No inpatient responsibilities
• No admissions or rounding
• Temporary privileges available
• Approximately 45-day credentialing timeline
• Local/drive-in candidates preferred
• Pay Ranking: Top 5–10% of comparable outpatient Interventional Pain locum assignments

• Evaluate new and established pain management patients
• Perform fluoroscopic and image-guided interventional pain procedures
• Develop individualized treatment plans
• Manage chronic pain conditions utilizing evidence-based therapies
• Interpret diagnostic imaging as appropriate
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in Meditech EMR
• Coordinate care with referring physicians and multidisciplinary teams
