Job Requirements

• Board Certified in Hematology Oncology
• Fellowship trained in Hematology Oncology
• Active Iowa medical license or active IMLC
• Must be available at least 2 weeks per month (Monday through Thursday)
• Strong Hematology Oncology experience preferred; new graduates may be considered
• Clean malpractice and background history required
• Comfortable managing outpatient oncology care and occasional inpatient phone consults

Responsibilities

• Provide consults and follow-up care for Hematology Oncology patients
• Oversee administration of antineoplastics in the clinic
• Participate in occasional phone-based on-call coverage
• Collaborate with nursing, pharmacy, lab, and referral support staff to coordinate patient care
• Support a patient-centered clinic environment with efficient, high-quality care delivery
• Address infrequent inpatient consult needs as needed in coordination with hospitalists
• Contribute to a teaching-oriented practice atmosphere
