Requirements MaineHealth is seeking a board-certified
fellowship-trained Endovascular Neurosurgeon to provide recurring
locum tenens coverage for their dedicated vascular neurosurgery service.
This is an ideal opportunity
for an experienced endovascular neurosurgeon seeking a recurring assignment at
a high-volume Comprehensive Stroke Center with an efficient predictable
schedule and excellent multidisciplinary support.
SUMMARY OF WORK:
Dedicated vascular
neurosurgical call only
No spine trauma tumor or
general neurosurgery coverage
Approximately 10 days
per month
Coverage scheduled in 2–3
predictable blocks of 3–4 consecutive days
Approximately 1–2
weekends per month
100 inpatient
No clinic
No elective practice
No outpatient follow-up
CLINICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The locum physician will
provide comprehensive inpatient care for urgent and emergent cerebrovascular
disease including:
Mechanical thrombectomy for
acute ischemic stroke
Ruptured and complex
intracranial aneurysms
Subarachnoid hemorrhage
Intracranial hemorrhage
requiring neuroendovascular intervention
Cerebral arteriovenous
malformations AVMs
Dural arteriovenous fistulas
dAVFs
Carotid and intracranial
occlusive disease
Other urgent cerebrovascular
conditions requiring open or endovascular management
Responsibilities include:
Emergency Department and
inpatient consultations
Interpretation of advanced
cerebrovascular imaging
Diagnostic cerebral angiography
when clinically indicated
Mechanical thrombectomy
Endovascular aneurysm treatment
Other neuroendovascular
procedures
Open vascular neurosurgical
procedures when appropriate
Peri-procedural inpatient
management
Coverage
is limited exclusively to vascular neurosurgical patients
SCHEDULE:
Coverage averages approximately
10 days each month and is typically organized into 2–3
assignments of 3–4 consecutive days providing excellent schedule
predictability.
Assignments include:
Weekday vascular call
Approximately one to two
weekends each month
Planned vacation coverage
Coverage is 24-hour call while
on service.

rate cap- Verbiage on all presentations and CLs: max conversion fee but fee will vary depending on hours worked as outlined in CSE

Car - Standard rental car no premium/SUV etc. rentals.
Mileage
Billed at the IRS Standard Rate
