About the Position

06193B – Practice medicine that matters in waterfront Southcentral Alaska. Solo APP provider role blending primary care, urgent care, and emergency medicine. High autonomy, grateful patients, stunning scenery, unforgettable adventure.

Location: Southcentral Alaska

Job Type: 1099 Locum Tenens Contract

Date Range: Immediate Start (post-credentialing) with an ongoing rotational schedule through 2027

Schedule:

  • 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off (travel home between rotations!)
  • Clinic: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
  • On-Call: Low volume while on assignment

Compensation: Make $11,000+ in 2 weeks!

  • Call-back Pay (minimum 1-hour guarantee for all call-backs)

Responsibilities:

  • Patient volume, clinic: Averages 6-10 patients per day
  • Patient volume, emergencies: Averages 1-2 per week
  • On-Call Details: Call volumes are typically very light
  • Staffing Mix: Solo Village Provider assignment
  • Support basic clinic operations: Inventory management, supply oversight, and facility readiness
  • General site upkeep: Monitoring fuel levels and coordinating essential resources to ensure uninterrupted patient care

Position Requirements:

  • Active Alaska State Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license
  • Active BLS & ACLS
  • ATLS & PALS preferred, but not required
  • Active DEA registration
  • Significant primary care & emergency experience required; pediatric experience preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of solo full-spectrum emergency experience
  • Direct experience with medevac and patient care stabilization including intubations, chest tubes, and complicated airways; must have strong suturing skills
  • Alaska bush experience highly preferred
  • Must be culturally sensitive and willing to embrace the native community and their culture

  • Experienced or interested in rural, tribal, or underserved populations
  • Clinic Management experience preferred
