Emergency Medicine Physician and Advanced Practice Provider Locums Opportunity

Location: Washington, DC (Washington metro)
Start: September 2026 (target) and ongoing
Schedule: Day, swing, and night coverage for physicians and day and swing coverage for advanced practice providers. Specific shift times to be confirmed.
Openings: 3
Travel and Lodging: Provided

Position Overview

This emergency department is seeking board certified or board eligible emergency medicine physicians and experienced advanced practice providers to support ongoing coverage needs. Physicians will provide emergency medicine coverage and supervise advanced practice providers as applicable. The emergency department includes separate pediatric coverage.

Clinical Scope

• Emergency medicine coverage
• Trauma level III environment
• Adult and pediatric emergency department volumes supported by separate pediatric coverage team
• Floor code response required for emergency medicine physicians

Required Qualifications

• Active DC medical license for physicians or DC license for advanced practice providers as applicable
• Active DEA
• DC controlled substance registration
• Board certification or board eligibility in Emergency Medicine for physicians. Internal Medicine or Family Medicine board certifications are not accepted.
• Recent peer reference within the last two years
• Ability to provide recent case logs and supporting credentialing documentation as requested

Credentialing and Onboarding

• Estimated credentialing timeline: approximately 31 to 60 days
• Temporary privileges may be available for clean files and are granted on the first Friday of the month
