About the Position

Schedule & Hours: Three 13-hour day shifts per week (6:00 AM – 7:00 PM), which includes rotating day/weekend coverage. No night shifts, no call rotation, and no holiday obligations.

Clinical Scope & Workflow: Purely dedicated to inpatient pediatric medical management and floor care.

Daily Routine: Start each shift rounding collaboratively alongside the neurosurgery resident team to define and review patient care plans.

Duties: Review active clinical findings, enter medical orders, perform direct physical assessments on patients requiring floor reviews, and handle discharge planning/coordination.

Procedural Preference: Preferred clinical competency in managing and safely removing surgical drains (such as Hemovac and Jackson-Pratt / JP drains).

Operating Room Note: The facility operates a robust resident training program that manages all surgical first-assist duties within the OR. This Nurse Practitioner role is exclusively focused on floor-based patient care; no OR time or surgical assistance is required.

Patient Population: Pediatric patients only (Infants, Children, and Adolescents).

Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Fully integrated utilizing Epic charting software.
Requirements

Education & Board Certification: Active Board Certification (NP) with validation or specialized alignment in Acute Care Pediatrics or surgical/neurological subspecialties preferred.

License Required: Must hold an active, unrestricted Massachusetts (MA) State License in hand at the time of submission.

Experience Level: Minimum of 1 year of dedicated clinical experience in neurosurgery or neurological inpatient/floor care is strictly required.

EMR Proficiency: Recent, hands-on charting experience with Epic software is required.
