About the Position

  • Schedule & Hours: Three 13-hour day shifts per week (6:00 AM – 7:00 PM). Includes a schedule split across weekdays and weekends. No night shifts, no call, and no holiday commitments.

  • Clinical Scope & Workflow: Purely inpatient medical management and floor care dedicated to pediatric patients.

    • Daily Routine: Start the day rounding collaboratively alongside the neurosurgery resident team to establish patient care plans.

    • Duties: Review clinical findings, manage acute inpatient charting, initiate medical orders, perform floor assessments, and coordinate patient discharges.

    • Procedural Preference: Preferred clinical ability to manage and safely remove surgical drains (e.g., Hemovac and Jackson-Pratt / JP drains).

  • Operating Room Note: The facility hosts a resident program that manages all surgical first-assist duties in the OR. This APP role is strictly focused on pediatric floor care and clinical management; no OR time or surgical assistance is required.

  • Patient Population: Pediatric patients (Neonates, Infants, Children, and Adolescents).

  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Fully integrated utilizing Epic charting software.

Requirements

  • Education & Board Certification: Active Board Certification (NCCPA) required.

  • License Required: Must hold an active, unrestricted Massachusetts (MA) State License in hand at the time of application.

  • Experience Level: Minimum of 1 year of dedicated clinical experience in neurosurgery or neurological floor care is required. Past exposure to pediatric clinical environments is highly valued.

  • EMR Proficiency: Recent, hands-on charting experience with Epic software is required.
