About the Position

A prestigious academic medical center in Boston is seeking a Nurse Practitioner with Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery experience for a full-time locum opportunity. This inpatient position offers a consistent weekday schedule with no call, no nights, no weekends, and no holiday coverage.

The provider will focus on patient management, evaluations, treatment planning, and coordination of care within a collaborative surgical team. This is a non-operative role with no first assist responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and history & physical examinations
  • Develop and manage treatment plans for plastic and reconstructive surgery patients
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies
  • Prescribe medications and manage therapeutic interventions
  • Perform bedside procedures as clinically appropriate
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly
  • Collaborate with surgeons, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in Epic

Working Hours

  • 3 shifts per week
  • Monday–Friday schedule
  • 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch)
  • Typically Wednesday–Friday
  • Flexibility to cover Monday or Tuesday as needed
  • No nights
  • No weekends
  • No holidays
  • No call responsibilities

  • Average Daily Census: 10 patients

Requirements

Required

  • Board Certified Nurse Practitioner
  • Active Massachusetts NP License
  • BLS Certification
  • Epic EMR experience
  • 1–2 years of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery experience

Preferred

  • Experience managing surgical inpatients
  • Strong clinical assessment and care coordination skills
