About the Position
A leading academic medical center in Boston is seeking a Physician Assistant for an inpatient Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery locum opportunity. This position offers a predictable weekday schedule with no call, no nights, no weekends, and no holiday coverage.
The provider will focus on inpatient patient management, evaluations, treatment planning, and coordination of care. This is a non-operative role with no First Assist responsibilities and no operating room procedures.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient evaluations and complete comprehensive history and physical examinations
- Develop and manage treatment plans for plastic and reconstructive surgery patients
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies
- Prescribe medications and manage therapeutic interventions
- Perform bedside procedures when clinically appropriate
- Monitor patient progress and modify care plans as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams
- Complete accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR
- Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and ongoing inpatient management
Working Hours
- 3 shifts per week
- Monday through Friday schedule
- 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- 30-minute unpaid lunch
- Typically Wednesday through Friday
- Flexibility to cover Monday and Tuesday as needed
- No nights
- No weekends
- No holidays
- No call responsibilities

- Adult patients only
- Average Daily Census: 10 patients

Requirements
Required
- Board Certified Physician Assistant
- Active Massachusetts PA License
- BLS Certification
- Epic EMR experience
- 1–2 years of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery experience
- Strong inpatient clinical management skills
Preferred
- Experience in academic medical center settings
- Experience managing surgical inpatients
