Locum Hematology/Oncology Physician
Description
We are seeking a Locum Hematology/Oncology Physician to join a growing oncology program and provide comprehensive care for patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions. This position offers a primarily outpatient practice setting with occasional inpatient consults, a predictable weekday schedule, and no call responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be flexible, adaptable, and comfortable managing a broad range of oncology treatments while collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team.

This opportunity is with an acute care hospital-based oncology program in New York. The practice operates primarily in an outpatient oncology clinic setting and utilizes Epic electronic medical records with AI-assisted charting capabilities. The oncology department includes a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality cancer care and supporting program growth.
Compensation:

Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with hematologic and oncologic disorders.
- Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans.
- Administer and manage:
- Chemotherapy
- Immunotherapy
- Targeted therapy
- Hormone therapy
- Provide outpatient oncology care for approximately 18–20 patients per day.
- Perform inpatient consults as needed during normal operating hours (infrequent).
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and clinical support staff.
- Support continuity of care and treatment monitoring.
- Adapt to evolving workflows within a growing oncology program.
Qualifications
- Board Eligible (BE) or Board Certified (BC) in Hematology/Oncology.
- Active New York medical license required and must be in hand at time of submission.
- Minimum of 5 years of Hematology/Oncology experience required.
- Epic EMR experience required.
- Strong outpatient oncology experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary care team.
- Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic clinical environment.
- Must maintain an up-to-date work history with no employment gaps exceeding 30 days.
- Physician statement required for any malpractice history, regardless of outcome.

- One-hour lunch break included
- No call coverage required
- Scheduled coverage only
