About the Position
We are seeking a skilled Anesthetist for a 90-day assignment in Michigan, starting May 25, 2026. This role involves administering anesthesia for general, neurosurgical, and various other procedures for adult and pediatric patients in a Trauma Center. The schedule includes 32-40 hours per week, with shifts of 8 or 10 hours, requiring work on either Monday or Friday each week, and no on-call duties are required.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Administer anesthesia for general surgical procedures for both adult and pediatric patients.
- Provide anesthesia care for neurosurgical cases, ensuring proper management of neurological status pre- and post-procedure.
- Perform spinal anesthesia and local infiltration anesthesia as required by surgical procedures.
- Manage ventilation and monitor respiratory status throughout the surgical process.
- Deliver anesthesia under direct supervision in a collaborative environment with anesthesiologists and surgical teams.
- Maintain continuous patient monitoring throughout the perioperative phase (pre-op, intra-op, and post-op).
- Utilize Epic EMR for all documentation and anesthesia records.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedural protocols, and safety standards.
- Operate within a hospital-based setting designated as a Trauma Center.
- Contribute to a daily volume of approximately 50 surgical cases.
- Work alongside a team in multiple operating rooms, with rotating assignments based on need.
- Respond to emergencies and provide airway management, including intubation if needed.
