About the Position

🩺 Position Description

A healthcare facility in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Gastroenterology Physician (Locum Tenens) for an ongoing assignment starting 9/14/2026.

This is a procedure-heavy inpatient role with a strong focus on endoscopic GI care. The position is primarily on-site Monday–Friday, offering a structured schedule with no call, no weekends, and no holiday coverage.

📊 Daily Volume: ~8–10 procedures/day
🏥 Setting: Inpatient hospital-based GI service
🖥️ EMR: EPIC

Requirements

🩺 Requirements

✔️ MD/DO required
✔️ Board Certified or Board Eligible (must be certified within 5 years of training)
✔️ Active or eligible licensure
✔️ BLS & ACLS required
✔️ Minimum 2 years of experience preferred
✔️ Strong proficiency in inpatient GI procedures

🔬 Required Procedures:
• Upper GI Endoscopy (EGD)
• Foreign body removal (food bolus impaction)
• Fulguration of bleeding
• Variceal banding
• Esophageal dilation
• Colonoscopy & polypectomy
• Sigmoidoscopy
• Lower GI endoscopy

⭐ Preferred (Not Required):
• ERCP
• EUS
