JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Board: Board Certified PA-C
  • Licenses: Active Iowa License (or eligible to obtain; processing time 4-6 weeks)
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of CT Surgery experience
  • Other Qualifications: Clean malpractice/background; NPDB Self-Query Report within 30 days
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including CABG, EVH, open valvular surgery, thoracotomy, and lobectomy
  • Provide daily first-assist coverage in the operating room and manage inpatient care (ICU/floor)
  • Participate in weekday night call and weekend 24-hour call for cardiothoracic surgery emergencies
  • Manage preoperative and postoperative patient evaluations and rounding
  • Collaborate with attending surgeons, nurses, and other team members to ensure comprehensive patient care
