Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology (Gastroenterologist)
• Active Georgia medical license required
• GA DEA and Controlled Substance Registration
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Clean malpractice history and background for expedited credentialing
• At least 1 year of clinical gastroenterology experience in an inpatient setting
• ERCP training preferred; candidates without ERCP training may be considered based on prior GI privileges and experience

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour call coverage and perform inpatient rounding for adult patients (inpatient gastroenterology)
• Perform GI procedures and endoscopy as needed (including colonoscopy/EGD; ERCP if credentialed)
• Respond to ED and inpatient GI consults for adult patients
• Coordinate care and facilitate hand-offs to local GI physicians and specialists
• Maintain high standards of patient safety, documentation in Epic, and timely communication with the care team
