About the Position

We are seeking Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologists for a locum tenens opportunity providing weekday daytime coverage in a high‑acuity pediatric cardiac program. The physician will support a Level I pediatric trauma environment, covering pediatric cardiac cases, non‑cardiac pediatric surgeries, and cath lab procedures. Annual volume includes approximately 200 open‑heart cases, 10+ pediatric transplants, and 500 catheterization procedures. The role includes a blended practice model with both solo case management and medically directed supervision, with an estimated 60% higher‑acuity patients and 40% healthier cases. Epic EMR is utilized for documentation.

Shift Details:

  • Day shifts Monday–Friday
  • Typical schedule options: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Weekend daytime shifts (7:00 AM–5:00 PM) may be staffed as appropriate
  • Call will not be required initially; call responsibilities may be added once the provider is established
  • Care team model includes CRNAs and physician supervision
  • Required procedural competency includes arterial lines, central lines, and pressor management

Coverage Dates / Schedule:

  • Flexible start window between May and early July 2026
  • Full‑time, part‑time, and PRN availability considered
  • Ongoing coverage needs anticipated
  • Cross‑credentialing required across multiple affiliated pediatric sites

Requirements

MD specializing in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology
Board Certified (Board Eligible candidates not accepted)
Completion of pediatric cardiac anesthesia training required
Minimum of 2 years of post‑training experience
Active Florida medical license required
ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
Comfortable with complex pediatric cardiac and cath lab cases
Florida resident candidates only
Must meet prior‑employment and geographic eligibility criteria per client policy
Willingness to participate in a clinical interview with site leadership
Average credentialing timeframe approximately 90–120 days
