Description

We are seeking a Hematology/Oncology Physician for a 6–9 month locum tenens assignment in New York. This is a primarily outpatient role with a consistent weekday schedule and no call requirements. The position offers a manageable patient volume and the opportunity to work in a growing oncology program supported by a collaborative care team.

About the facility

This is an acute care hospital with an outpatient oncology clinic and infusion center. The program is currently expanding and provides a supportive environment with a small, dedicated team. The clinic includes multiple infusion chairs and utilizes EPIC EMR with AI-assisted charting capabilities.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient hematology and oncology care
• Manage 18–20 patients per day
• Administer and oversee treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies
• Perform occasional inpatient consults as needed
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team including NP and clinical support staff
• Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and patient management

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology
• Active New York medical license required (no licensing available)
• Minimum 5 years of experience preferred
• EPIC experience required
• Strong clinical and communication skills
• Clean and consistent work history (no unexplained gaps over 30 days)

Working Hours

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• 1-hour lunch break daily
• No call required
• Assignment length: 6–9 months
