Locum Hematology/Oncology Physician – Pennsylvania | Full-Time Ongoing

Description

We are seeking a Hematology/Oncology Physician for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Pennsylvania. This role offers a balanced mix of outpatient clinic responsibilities and inpatient consultative support within a collaborative, well-supported environment. Providers will work alongside an established team and manage a steady patient volume with a diverse case mix.

About the facility

This is an acute care hospital with an affiliated cancer program accredited by the American College of Surgeons. The practice includes clinic-based oncology services supported by infusion centers and a multidisciplinary care team. Providers will work across two nearby hospital locations and collaborate with experienced physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff.

Malpractice Covered

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient hematology and oncology care in a clinic setting
  • Support inpatient and emergency department consults as needed
  • Manage an average of 15 patients per day
  • Supervise and support infusion treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and IV therapies
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nursing, navigation, and specialty services
  • Participate in call rotation (1 week per month)
  • Provide clinical guidance via phone and inpatient consults during call coverage
  • Utilize dictation and documentation systems for patient care

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology
  • Fellowship trained in Hematology/Oncology
  • Pennsylvania license preferred (willing to license candidates)
  • Ability to manage both oncology and hematology cases
  • Strong clinical and collaborative skills
  • Experience in outpatient oncology preferred

Working Hours

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Full-time preferred, minimum 3 days per week accepted
  • Ongoing coverage need
  • Call requirements:
    • 1 week per month
    • Includes night and weekend call
    • Mix of phone and inpatient consults
    • Average 0–2 calls per day
