About the Position
We are seeking Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologists for a locum tenens opportunity providing weekday daytime coverage in a high‑acuity pediatric cardiac program. The physician will support a Level I pediatric trauma environment, covering a mix of pediatric cardiac and non‑cardiac cases as well as cath lab procedures. Annual volume includes approximately 200 open‑heart procedures, 10+ transplants, and 500 catheterization cases. The role involves a blend of solo case management and medically directed supervision, with an approximate split of 60% higher‑acuity (sick) patients and 40% healthier cases. Epic EMR is used for documentation.
Shift Details:
- Day shifts Monday–Friday
- Typical shift options: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Weekend shifts (7:00 AM–5:00 PM) may be available if mutually agreed
- Call not required initially; call expectations may increase once the site is comfortable with the provider
- Care team model supports a mix of physician‑led and medically directed coverage
- Required procedural skills include central lines, arterial lines, and vasoactive medication management
Coverage Dates / Schedule:
- Flexible start window between May and early July 2026
- Full‑time, part‑time, and PRN availability considered
- Ongoing coverage needs anticipated
- Cross‑credentialing required at multiple affiliated pediatric sites
Requirements
MD specializing in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology
Board Certified (no Board Eligible candidates accepted)
Completion of pediatric cardiac anesthesia training required
Minimum of 2 years of post‑training experience
Active Florida medical license required at submission
ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
Comfortable managing high‑acuity pediatric cardiac patients
Out‑of‑state candidates only
Must meet prior‑employment and distance eligibility criteria per client policy
Willingness to participate in video or phone interview with site clinical leadership
Credentialing timeframe approximately 90–120 days
