About the Position

We are seeking a Gastroenterology Physician for a locum tenens opportunity providing continuous 24‑hour call coverage with scheduled office and procedure responsibilities during weekdays. The provider will manage adult patients with a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions and perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. Patient ratios typically range from 1:15–20 per day. Epic EMR is used for documentation, and all orientation hours are payable.

Shift Details:

• 24‑hour beeper call coverage
• Weekday office hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Procedure hours: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
• Office and procedure days vary based on availability
• Daily structure includes 8 regular clinical hours plus on‑call responsibilities
• Weekend 24‑hour call coverage included

• July 6 (7:00 AM) – July 13 (7:00 AM)
• July 13 (7:00 AM) – July 20 (7:00 AM)

• August 3 (7:00 AM) – August 10 (7:00 AM)
• August 10 (7:00 AM) – August 17 (7:00 AM)
• August 17 (7:00 AM) – August 24 (7:00 AM)
• August 24 (7:00 AM) – August 31 (7:00 AM)

Requirements

MD with Gastroenterology specialization
Board Certified in Gastroenterology
Active New York medical license in hand
Minimum of 2 years of recent GI experience
Proficient in upper and lower endoscopy
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Epic EMR experience required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Clean and up‑to‑date work history with no gaps greater than 30 days
If any malpractice history exists (dismissed or otherwise), a physician statement is required
