Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $11,890-$12,530
- Assignment Type: Locum tenens physician opportunity in anesthesiology
- Start Date: August 31, 2026
- Schedule: 4 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 10-hour days
- Hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Call: 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM, with weekend call in between scheduled dates and at the end of rotation
- Assignment Length: 52 weeks
- Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days
- Cases: General, orthopedics, gynecology, GI, and bread-and-butter anesthesia cases
- Procedures Required: Spinals, blocks, and epidurals
- EMR: Epic
Anesthesiologist Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of anesthesiology experience required
- Active, unrestricted North Carolina medical license
- NC DEA required
- Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology preferred
- AHA-issued ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications required
- Case logs required
- Strong experience with general anesthesia procedures, regional anesthesia, and perioperative patient management
- Ability to respond to call within 45 minutes to 1 hour
Anesthesiologist Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia care for a variety of surgical procedures, including general, orthopedic, gynecologic, and GI cases
- Perform preoperative assessments and postoperative PACU evaluations
- Administer and manage anesthetics, including spinals, blocks, and epidurals
- Supervise CRNAs as part of a collaborative anesthesia care model
- Manage assigned cases while supporting daily workflow, breaks, and float coverage as needed
- Document patient care accurately within the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Participate in call coverage and respond promptly when needed
- Maintain a high standard of patient safety and clinical quality throughout the perioperative process
