Join a collaborative endocrinology team as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, providing comprehensive care for patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders. This role emphasizes patient education, evidence-based treatment, and close collaboration with endocrinologists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 🩺 Conduct comprehensive endocrine-focused histories and physical exams
  • πŸ’Š Manage conditions including diabetes (Type 1, Type 2, gestational), thyroid disease, osteoporosis, adrenal and pituitary disorders, and metabolic syndromes
  • πŸ’‰ Initiate and adjust medications, including insulin and hormone therapies under collaborative protocols
  • πŸ§ͺ Interpret laboratory results, imaging, and diagnostic studies
  • πŸ“š Educate patients on disease management, medications, lifestyle changes, and self-care tools (e.g., CGMs, insulin pumps)
  • 🀝 Collaborate with endocrinologists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
  • πŸ“Š Monitor patient progress, respond to abnormal labs, and manage medication refills
  • πŸ“ Document all clinical encounters accurately and timely in the EMR

Requirements

Education:

  • PA: Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • NP: Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing (Family, Adult, or Adult-Gerontology)

Licensure & Certification:

  • Active New York State PA or NP license
  • National board certification (NCCPA for PAs; AANP or ANNC for NPs)
  • DEA registration with prescriptive authority
  • BLS certification (ACLS preferred)

Experience & Skills:

  • 1–2 years of clinical experience in endocrinology or internal medicine preferred
  • Experience with diabetes technology (e.g., CGMs, insulin pumps) highly desirable
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient education skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with endocrinologists and multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent documentation, organizational, and communication skills
